2014

A brief history of SJSG - Chris SWEETman (right) had left his in-house Audio Director role at Xbox the year before and was working with Epic Games on a little title called Fortnite (we hear it did alright). Samuel JUSTICE (left) had recently moved back to the UK after working at EA DICE in Sweden with Ben Minto, a mutual friend, who recommended they join forces and came up with the name Sweet Justice.

2014

Our first logo, and it's been evolving ever since. The goal of Sweet Justice was the same then as it is now: make the most creative sound design anywhere, and let that reputation bring in more people who want that too. No chasing a quick buck, no cringe words like bizdev, just the work being better than anyone else's.

2015

After initially starting SJ to just share workloads between Sam and Chris, they were caught off guard with the volume of work requests, carefully choosing which ones to pick, they slowly expanded... in Sam's Kitchen!

2016

Our first big cinematic project as SJS goes out to the world, Mirrors Edge Catalyst.

2017

Realising we needed a HQ to call our own, we scouted locations, and settled on a converted stables nearby. We quickly got to work gutting it and making it into a place to call home.

2019

Csaba Wagner joins as our creative chief, after a stint in Hollywood on some huge movies (Transformers, Pacific Rim, Terminator to name a few). With Csaba joining we became 10 and also our US home and sibling company SJS Inc was born.

2021

Ben Minto leaves his role as Studio Audio Director / Franchise Audio Director at EA (on all things B: Battlefield, Battlefront, Burnout, Black (for those of you in the back who remember that one)) and joins SJS as Chief Operating Officer, because things were getting big.

2022

SweejTech is born. Same creative spirit as Sweet Justice, pointed at audio technology. Internally we call it the mad science lab, and the idea is tools built by the people doing the work, proven on the projects they're actually working on.

2022

It was time to renovate the HQ and give it the makeover it needed to carry us into the future, as well as support the infrastructure needed for SweejTech

2025

SweejHolm. A chance for a bunch of Sweet Justice and SweejTech folk to meet in person, as well as Sauna, Schnaps and Systemet. We also met clients, peers and many friendly local Swedes

Present

SJS is now 30+ people spread across most corners of the world and nearly as many timezones, trusted with the most iconic sounds for the biggest IPs and heard for billions of hours along the way. Plenty of companies now try to mimic what we do (always flattering), but you can't copy something you don't understand. Still after the same thing we were in 2014.
